For this #ThankYouTuesday, I want to express my gratitude to SDF.org.

This long-standing community, thriving and healthy, is built on #NetBSD.

Many years ago (I’d have to dig through old emails, but it’s definitely over 20 years), I reached out to them for advice on setting up a public access server (which I ended up not doing). They were incredibly kind and provided me with a wealth of information.
They are also present in the Fediverse - @SDF - showing that they are always keeping up with the times and looking toward the future.

Long live SDF, and thank you for everything!

@stefano @SDF +1, SDF public UNIX access was one of the very first places I had a shell outside of systems I built for myself and ran out of my house. (I didn’t get BBS access way back in the day because of where/when I grew up, so that kind of community was a delightful new thing to me. Much love to SDF.)

@stefano @SDF apparently I am blocked from following SDF =\ Or else some kind of inter-instance shenanigans; that kind of thing is the downside of a broadly federated model (more opportunities for complex multi-system failure modes)
