Today I learned that the Alien franchise is owned by Disney, which means that every xenomorph egg that hatches, being a daughter of the xenomorph queen, is technically a Disney princess

Realising that the fact that Disney own Star Wars is talked about a lot, but the fact that Disney own literally every 20th Century Fox film is talked about less. Like... Rocky Horror Picture Show is a Disney film, kinda

@julesh I've definitely heard people make the joke / point out the fact that Frank-N-Furter is technically a Disney princess somewhere around the intertubes. But yes, definitely more rare.

@julesh
Dr. Frank-n-Furter is a Disney Princess. TIL.

David Marshall

@julesh

I've heard that they own the Alien movies, too.

That makes the Alien Queen a Disney Princess.

@julesh So if Dr Frank N Furter is a queen, then Rocky is the princess? (Or Janet?)

@julesh I can attest that the Disney+ streaming platform has gotten a shit load of content over the past month or so. I didn't used to watch hardly anything on Disney, but now it's my go-to platform.

@julesh Dr. Frankenfurter is the first Transsexual Transvestite Disney Princess. Unless Mulan counts? But I think she was just in disguise.

@julesh Don't they have to be the protag. to qualify? (Also, I think Disney maintains an official list of individuals now, instead of just a set of qualifications.)

I think Godzilla might be a Disney princess; she is female (lays eggs, so probably?) and royalty ("King of Monsters") and sometimes the protag.

@julesh I didn't find a Disney link, but mickeyvisit.com/disney-princes is a fairly recent article (from a non-Disney source), and it says the official list is of individuals:

> What are official Disney Princesses?

> An official Disney Princess is a female character whom Disney has put on the official list and as part of the official franchise. Currently, these princesses include Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Moana, Mulan, Ariel, Raya, Pocahontas, Merida, Aurora, and Jasmine.

Cassander

@julesh ...does that mean Ripley is kinda playing the role of the Evil Stepmother?

Biggles

@drsbaitso @julesh Ripley in aliens3 is part alien - Ripley is a Disney Princess too.

David Fox

@julesh Shush .. we'll have singing xenomorphs next, although maybe that would be an improvement over recent outings.

@julesh makes sense, they have so much love to give that they hug people face first.

Chris

@julesh Did you listened to the #maxfun SPY “10 things we love about Disney” bonus episode today too?

Full Metal Archaeopteryx

@julesh
Does Deadpool count as a Disney princess? 🤔

Patrick Morris Miller

@julesh Technically correct, best kind of correct.

@julesh
Disney World had this multimedia horror experience called Alien Encounter that was an extremely jarring shift in tone from the rest of the park. It was developed as an Alien tie-in but they ended up taking out the direct references. Then they revamped it into a Lilo & Stitch thing and eventually removed it.

In the 80s, there was a single Ripley/Xenomorph animatronic scene as part of a special effects montage ride. I loved it.

There's some strong merch potential in your idea!

Aero

@julesh you mean princess Leia is technically a Disney princess?

Commander Realo :trekbadgetng:

@julesh Is this a recent ownership? Because that would explain why Disney World used to have a Alien attraction. @5ciFiGirl
