@drq I paid for it full price, just for that. Also, Black Mesa is good because the source material is good. I think we all underestimate how good Half-Life scenario is.

By the way, an important difference I found is, how Black Mesa is much heavier on puzzles than the source material. While it's a mechanic change showcasing the shift to the Source engine with its great physics model, it also plays really well into characterization. The game is telling you: "surviving this kind of disaster isn't going to be obvious. You're an exceptionally smart person (or at least you're playing as one, they don't hand out PhDs in physics to just anyone, and places like BMRF do not hire just for good looks) - figure it out. Good luck!" It's great.
