@kenshirriff "interim" is a word which here means "permanent" I'm guessing?
@aburka Yes, "Interim" doesn't work out that way with NASA. See also the Interim Upper Stage. Eventually, NASA realized it wouldn't be replaced, so it was renamed the "Inertial Upper Stage" to keep the IUS acronym.
