Would you still love me if I was a worm?

A Maxell Optical Disc Cartridge OC321-2 7 gigabyte WORM disc. It's shown in comparison to a 3.5" disk, where it's about 4 times as wide and tall.

@billgoats @foone if you work in the backup world it's something that has become ridiculously common in the last 10 years. With ransomware.

@foone Is this something like 12" optical disks inside???
I wasn't aware there was a cartridge Variant. But makes sense for everyone ever handled a 12" optical disk.

@foone why it has write protection toggle?! How does it even work?

@alex WORM discs are sector-based, so you can write a few sectors and then later write more. The switch just tells the laser not to run at write-intensity
