Don't push to prod on a Friday

To be safe, don't push to prod on a Thursday night.

Really, someone might be off so don't push on Thursday.

Consider not pushing to prod on Weds, as that's when everyone is running their security scans.

Don't push to prod on Tuesday for reasons I can't yet think of.

Don't push to prod on Monday, you're still getting over the weekend.

Consider just not pushing to prod.

@platypus Luckily there are the weekends. Everyone is of work, so no one will notice if you screw up until Monday.

@platypus we actually don't push to prod past a certain time of day, and never on Fridays for exactly this reason.

demofox

@platypus don't push on Tuesday cause everyone else is and we need to space these things out

@demofox @platypus
That's why you always choose the least predictable day to push to prod. That eliminates Friday -- if you haven't pushed all week everyone else will predict you'll push on Friday. Since Friday is eliminated, you cannot wait until Thursday to push to prod by the same logic. Repeat the same reasoning to eliminate everyday of the week.

@platypus as someone responsible for deploying an website, i have been saying for *years* that the root of our problems is clearly changing the software.

@platypus Tuesday is for tacos, not production. Nobody can work when they're sleepy because they're full of tacos.
