@ente clicking on the link in the text of the post itself works for me, but clicking on the link card generated leads to a 404, just a heads up! Thanks for the work you do! @markpitblado that's odd, thanks for the heads up! Could you please share which Mastodon client you're using? 🙏 @ente this is very interesting, just went back to a older post of ente's with a different link, and the auto generated link cards are all the self hosting 101 guide, even though the mentioned link in the text is entirely different! Maybe something weird with caching. Seems to be a bug on the client end not yours! Will flag with the developer and sorry about the trouble! @ente This is a fantastic project. I use it to backup photos and to share albums with friends, as it supports all platforms. It was reallya valuable tool for a recent alumni event for posting and sharing photos. Fantastic. @ente Am I inspired you to write a post? 😄 |
@ente
Yeah I read this post when it was first published.
The next step (my suggestion) is to actually show with a couple of examples of how to actually do it - a self hosting 101 for the average but tech savvy person.
I recommend starting with Jitsi and Bitwarden and Syncthing.
This should set up the ground work to understand how others can be done (hopefully) relatively easily.
