@CynAq @DharmaDog fwiw there's one good example in the private sector, where a certain kind of bottom-feeding subhuman in a suit with a law degree will run an outfit that mass spams numerous potential defendants with an absolutely dogshit legal argument that's designed to sound really scary to anyone who hasn't done the legal analysis, then demands a settlement for $500-$800 which is always below what anyone would think it would cost them to talk to a lawyer about this

there are lawyers out there who hate this behaviour enough that they'd actually write a response for you for free
