@nixCraft this might be one of the funniest things ever written about Linux. I've been using it since 1995 and this captures almost the entire rubrick. Bravo

Only 1995? By that point a lot of the "it's GNU+Linux" people were already stopping to botherto protesting …at least compared to the 1992/93 timeframe.

Well, there is Chimera Linux (chimera-linux.org/), intended for desktop use, and doesn't use GNU completely; instead, it uses FreeBSD's implementation of coreutils, LLVM to compile the kernel, and Musl instead of glibc

gunstick

@nixCraft can you compile the kernel with clang?

Mahid Sheikh

@gunstick @nixCraft yep, the kernel can be compiled with Clang and LLVM

@nixCraft I think the entire "GNU+Linux" pedantry is dumb as hell, and I have an entire counter rant to it.

It's not "actually", it's "ackchyually" (and this is why we need mansplaining).

@nixCraft "work is being done" I don't know much about kernels but don't newer android flavors of linux kernels use clang for most/all of the compilation?
