Basically, Neil Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death" which came out in 1985 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amusing_Ourselves_to_Death I wish Postman was still around today to give us a commentary about the current state of affairs, with his brilliant analyses (but he would be crushed by what has been happening since 2015-2016)
