Gregory's Server@brayd Check out SILC then, it _might_ meet your goals. I think development around it is pretty stagnant though. Its as easy to run as any IRCd and the clients are also very simple. I can't speak to "how good" the encryption bits are though.

@miah @brayd Never used silc myself but there’s also OTR.
Which I also did not use because my IRC conversations are basically public.
e2e exists with the caveat that the excusing options do not hide the complexity unlike the proprietary solutions.
