@WouterGVDO @alice Also, my parents were from the new wave of immigrants that came in the 80s and 90s. Like in America, Chinese people have been immigrating here for decades, centuries even, and were subject to varying forms of discrimination. 100 years ago, on Canada Day of 1923 (or Dominion Day as it was known), the country passed the Chinese Immigration Act, and the day became known as ‘Humiliation Day’ for Chinese-Canadians until it was finally repealed in 1947.
