With this point, I am thinking specifically of governments being able to end pandemic emergency aid programs to save money and of businesses being relieved of their obligation to accommodate workers and provide safety equipment.
In the short term, the pandemic raised costs for governments and businesses (essential worker pay bumps, expanded Medicaid spending, covering the cost of vaccines, etc.)
If we no longer report COVID data, the pandemic is over, right?
