Seeing a repeating issue lately where a Linux game on Steam only downloads on Steam Deck, and is empty on desktop Linux.

This is because they've set the "Steam Deck" option on their content, which then makes it only available to Steam Deck. Untick it for Steam Deck.

Example, this makes the Linux content depot *only* downloadable on Steam Deck.

As I understand, the idea is so developers can give special changes just for Steam Deck, but the messaging for devs seems unclear so people keep tagging it thinking that makes it available.

You as a developer don't need to tick anything to make it available on Steam Deck.

If you have a Linux version - that will download automatically, the Steam Deck *IS* Linux.

If you don't have a Linux version, Valve's verification will check it on Proton and set it accordingly.

@gamingonlinux Maybe they're only comfortable officially supporting the Steam Deck as a unified hardware/software platform? Not sure if that's a valid excuse but it could be.

@gamingonlinux so... they don't test their game on the platforms they wish to support?

That seems irresponsible.
