The plot sucks, the plot is shaky and cardboard, like a stage set in a provincial theater.

But the whole work of the director and cameraman, let alone vivid and thrilling acting is so damn great, I simply did’t need any plot whatsoever.

Bergman would have been enchanted, I believe.
