Control over the playstore apps and the key associated with them is and has always been solely with Fornwall. The apps were also never disabled in playstore, even after vulnerabilities were disclosed: https://termux.dev/en/posts/general/2022/02/15/termux-apps-vulnerability-disclosures.html. At some point google disabled them though due to no updates or old target version though
