Showtime, the video player I'm developing for #GNOME has entered Incubator and is available on the GNOME Nightly repo for testing :blobfoxflooftea:

I'm hoping for it to replace Totem (Videos) in GNOME 48 and I will publish it on Flathub soon.

Setting up GNOME Nightly: nightly.gnome.org/

The repository for the app: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/Incubat

@kramo How does one install it after setting up nightly? I tried both flatpak install org.gnome.gitlab.showtime and flatpak install org.gnome.showtime. These flatpak names are impossible to understand.

kramo

@forteller org.gnome.Showtime.Devel. But you can just do something like `flatpak install showtime` in the future and it will suggest you the correct one ^^

They're just reverse DNS'. If you consider them difficult, consider using a software store.

@kramo Ok, ok, nice! Tap to pause and play, double tap to toggle full screen. When you open same file it asks to resume or play again.

But where is that floating panel with progress bar, volume.. etc.?

kramo

@peja The app is not yet optimized for touch. I made it so tapping the video reveals the toolbar for now.

@kramo congrats!!! Please be careful and don't burn yourself out; don't forget to take breaks, drink water, and take walks outside :blobhearttranscat:
