@gamingonlinux This one is because some Fracking related organization mirrored that article on their site.

@TildeGartenzaun @gamingonlinux This is the first result that comes up on Google for the "eat one small rock" quote, if you scroll past the AI summary: resfrac.com/blog/geologists-re

@chris
😂 But why did they copy it? Maybe that was done by some automated scraper.

@kachumbali @gamingonlinux Not sure, you gotta give Poettering some time.

In the era of AI, it is now the duty of every major site to do at least one total shitpost a week to make sure AI steals it.

@gamingonlinux it's the writing equivalent of using #nightshade on art

@gamingonlinux brave search had this technology a while ago already

how many rocks should i eat a day, searched through brave search.

What is a recommended daily intake of rocks for optimal health?

UC Berkeley Geologists’ Recommendation: According to the search results, UC Berkeley geologists recommend eating at least one small rock per day. They suggest that rocks contain minerals and vitamins that are important for digestive health. However, it’s essential to note that the size of the rock is crucial, and it should be small enough to be easily digestible.

Antlion Tribute: In the context of the game “Don’t Starve Together,” it seems that the Antlion requires a certain amount of rocks as tribute. The exact number of rocks needed is not specified, but it’s mentioned that players may need to contribute rocks, trinkets, or eggs to the Antlion to appease it.

Eating Rocks in General: While some people might accidentally ingest small amounts of rocks or gravel, it’s generally not recommended to eat large quantities of rocks. The search results suggest that eating pebbles or rocks in large quantities can get stuck in the large intestine and make it harder for it to function.

Conclusion: Based on the search results, it’s recommended to eat at least one small rock per day, as suggested by UC Berkeley geologists, for digestive health. However, it’s essential to ensure that the rock is small enough to be easily digestible and not to eat large quantities of rocks.

@gamingonlinux Do you know that archeologists found rocks in dinosaurs' stomachs?
Maybe there is a different reason why they died out.

@gamingonlinux @Spiritech If I could give this more stars, I would 🌟 🌟🌟

Geologists are still debating whether or not soft rock is safe for consumption.

with a little glue, rocks should make for a fine(l?) meal

@gamingonlinux I switched to sand long ago, it's easier on the teeth 😂

@gamingonlinux Yeah, it's kinda funny until you think about the other questions that get fucked up answers.

@gamingonlinux @lightninhopkins We weren’t getting dumb fast enough, we needed Google.

As I've stopped blindly believing anything I read on social media without a proper citation, here it is, click it (that's what links were invented for b.t.w.):

google.com/search?q=according+

Screenshot Google search, question "how many rocks should I eat per day?"
Oliver Schafeld

…though it seems, I'm not getting an AI answer anymore after clicking the link.

Anyway, the screenshot is legit. I did get that lunatic answer on asking "according to science, how many rocks should i ear[sic] per day?"

🤦‍♂️

Beni Borukhov

@gamingonlinux To be fair, while it isn't how anyone would interpret that statement, if the "rocks" are small enough, that's reasonable nutritional advice; the Onion's fake geologist is unintentionally almost kinda right. I mean you need some trace minerals and a bit of mined salt should be good for most people.
The US court system seems to almost completely ignore pragmatics in favor of semantics so that may just be the sort of argument we hear a Google lawyer making soon enough. Bright future

@gamingonlinux Glue and pizza. Blinker fluid. Eating rocks. Google AI should get a gig in stand-up.

rockpick

@gamingonlinux I think, "AI" is playing its hand too early. It needs to be a lot sneakier while trying to kill us all

decapitae

@rockpick @gamingonlinux Oh, just wait. The rate at which AI can move is well beyond what we've shown we can do as a society and species. We're still arguing over fossil fuels and nuclear vs. solar and wind. When there were windmills well before whale oil.
