Choosing your OS is a luxury that not every company allows. Also, some people are stuck with software entirely designed for Microsoft. I'm currently dealing with a complicated piece of very popular software that has a half-assed Linux version with zero support and contradictory documentation. When I meet someone who says they're running it on a windows server, the only good answer is "Great choice".
