@stux for me, The Witcher 2 is a modern game. I love Morrowind though. ππ @thibaultmol @stux I've played first-in-genre games which are now so obscure, people only know of the game which popularized the genre. It's definitely a weird feeling how much has become purely historical. The moment 256-colour graphics were new. The moment multi-channel audio was new. The moment floppies stopped being used for most things (still used for some! WHY!?) What else will simply disappear into the past? And will this be before floppies go away or after? What about fax machines? @Wintermute_BBS @Pheebe @stux You ask for retro gaming, they give you PS2. You ask for Atari, they stare blankly and ask if that's a Nintendo game. @kerfuffle @Wintermute_BBS @stux as opposed to Morris Minor, which is a totally different thing @stux LOL
I remember being 4 years old when my Dad got the PS2 for us and had Vice city on it. Now I'm 26, Hell I'm already considering 360/PS3/WII Retro at this point. But of course there's debate to call it retro. @stux Iβm definitely not hitting my mid-30s exactly in the middle of this week. Nope. Nope. Nope! I actually MISS playing Pong with my father and grandfather. Funny how switching the RCA channel selector to '3', breaking our the paddles, and playing Pong with family can be missed nearly a half-century later. @stux Atari 2600 and Pitfall anyone know what that is? If you do, I see you! @ScottStarkey @stux I loved it, but it was the bane of my existence. Itβs how I learned to jump with the joystick, damn crocodiles :blobjoy: |
