The Demicolon Invented by a mad Andorran monk in 1422, the demicolon is a versatile (if a bit showy) punctuation tool. While a semicolon can can only only connect two related-yet-independent clauses, a demicolon can connect anything to damn well anything else it pleases. Then it calls all of semicolon's friends and leaves threatening voice-mails on their answering machines. Demicolon: connects an independent clause to another independent clause, a dependent clause, an adverb, a picture of a bear, the planet Neptune, some buttons, your mother, etc. Modern usage: 1: "Grammar is not cool." 2: (transcribing this is hard but basically a demicolon is used to tie in a couple weird independent things to the first clause, so here it goes) "Maybe this will change your tune (demicolon) demicolon first clause: yo semicolon, better not go to sleep tonight ha ha ha BOOM demicolon second clause: picture of a bear demicolon third clause: a zoobooks magazine? (hard to make out, low resolution) demicolon fourth clause: otherworldly cthulu language 1:"I retract my statement. Please become my surrogate father."
