Still crazy that Epic Games refuse to turn on Proton support for #Fortnite

So we canโ€™t play on #SteamDeck / Linux.

@gamingonlinux

At this point, I think Tim is just scared of us.

@gamingonlinux How is that crazy? The game isn't even on Steam. It's EGS exclusive.

@henkka because literally the only thing stopping it being playable is them refusing to turn on the anti-cheat support

Henkka Laukka

@gamingonlinux How's that the only thing? Isn't proton layer tied to Steam? I thought it was, but if it isn't I'm happy to hear that. But if the game isn't on steam how can the game be run on proton?

@henkka uh, no, iโ€™ve shown since day 1 of the steam deck that you can run epic games store on Linux

Henkka Laukka

@gamingonlinux Yeah, sorry I haven't been following you since day one and also for asking questions that I didn't know the answer to.

@gamingonlinux Not sure why we would want Fortnight on the Deck...we're a more discerning audience than that. ๐Ÿคฃ

@gamingonlinux same thing with #rainbowsixsiege and ubisoft. Only thing they have to do is send an e-mail to activate the serverside anticheat for linux.
You can play it offline or a local game, no problem. If you join an online match you get kicked/banned.
