Hate living in this world where I post something and someone has to ask themselves, "is she actually a monster machine?"

no brain no pain

@lzg the world is an ugly place but life is beautiful 🤩

@lzg and *not being able to know for sure* is basically the metric for success for the people who build and deploy the monster machines

@lzg in defense of AI (not that that is ever a good idea) but Facebook, Twitter, IG etc were mighty swinging d#cks online before AI ever came into the parlor.

I was just reading this @pluralistic article on how copyright laws (current, or any new ones that might get enacted) are not likely to protect creators from LLMs and genAI, but that labor laws might.

However, I wonder if we could get better consumer laws in place, too—requiring that all AI-generated content must be disclosed prominently.

I’d like to see better consumer protection laws related to contents of products, sustainability, and country of origin, too.

@lzg This happened to me just today. My niece boosted a set of pretty landscape photos and I felt compelled to zoom in and scrutinize a few before deciding they were real.

@lzg As someone who grew up during the early days of the web, it absolutely frustrates me to see how stupid the web has become. Between big tech and AI, it's just a nightmare.
