@gamingonlinux โ€œwhat do you now want from a Steam Deck 2?โ€ AArch64ยน or RISC-V CPU ๐Ÿ˜.

@gamingonlinux Nintendo hardware will never overcome the steam deck in terms of raw performance in the next 10 years. Just look at the Switch, its hardware was already 6 years or so out of date when it released. :)

@gamingonlinux I have and love my original Steam Deck. Iโ€™m so tempted to get the OLED model, but the thought of a Steam Deck 2 coming out soon weighs on me. Couldnโ€™t happen, right?

@jordan It won't be any time soon, and the OLED really is much nicer

@gamingonlinux I think the Deck 2 should use an ARM CPU instead of an x86 one. They're smaller, more efficient, and offer significantly better battery life.

@ultrasquid arm to x86 translation just isn't there yet, would be business suicide tbh for a device like this

@gamingonlinux I hope they put a USB4 port on the Steam Deck 2. Let me eGPU, dangit!

@gamingonlinux Maybe they can just make the switch 2 run Linux.

@gamingonlinux Thing is: bringing the performance up can quickly be evened out by also bringing the resolution up.

I am not sure what resolution is necessary for a really good experience on such a small device, but I am sure there's a golden balance to find somewhere in there.
