I also had some hard experiences being shooed away like that...
But I persisted, staying low for months, hiding from the ferocious wiki admins who devour every newcomer on sight, all while thoroughly learning the ins and outs of Wikipedia culture.
Then I emerged from my hideouts and eventually started to contribute back, little by little.😂
