Alex Gleason, no, I don't think it does. As I understand, the idea here is that the boost doesn't extend the audience. If someone boosts Alice's followers-only post, still only Alice's followers will see the boost. So there's no fetching involved because if you're meant to see a followers-only post, you already have it in your local database.
