I love getting *fan mail because Iโ€ฆdonโ€™t have enough time to cover everything

*hate

Please, pull yourself together As a news site about Linux gaming, you don't seem to be more interested in open-source gaming. Sites like phoronix and linuxlinks has more open-source gaming related content than you ever had. Example: StuntRally had 3 releases from last year after being dormant for 10 years. I notified you about it last year. But you seemed to be more eager to bitch about twitter at that time. No one is prohibiting you from posting news about proprietary games, just post a fair share of open-source news. In heavy heart, I'm sending you this email after following your news for a few years. People like you are a disgrace to the Linux community. In my experience, people like you always complain about google monopoly but won't use Firefox.

@gamingonlinux What the fuck!? Why donโ€™t they run their own website and write their own articles if they donโ€™t think youโ€™re covering the right things? ๐Ÿ˜†

Iโ€™m sure you probably know this but just ignore these people. Write the content you think is the right stuff with the time you reasonably can dedicate to it.

A few years back I read a really interesting study that concluded with... let me see, if I remember correctly it was something like... people are stupid! Yeah, that was it. :-)

You do you! Focus on what tickles your fancy and stuff that you find interesting. That is always good enough.

Tical

@gamingonlinux The worst part about this is that even if you did do those things he would still complain about the way in which you cover those games if they werent accessable. Entitlement brain worms this one.

@gamingonlinux feels like they forgot to press the caps lock before typing. Doesn't even seem to make any coherent sense!? It's like reading a piece of AI generated text.

@gamingonlinux The guy clearly doesn't get the best thing about the internet --if you don't see the content you want, you can make it yourself.

Create a blog, start typing. ๐Ÿ––

@gamingonlinux I donโ€™t understand mail like this. There is no obligation to follow and there is no contract or commitment in place.

MegatronicThronBanks

@gamingonlinux Wow that was random!
You'd also better tell them Firefox is funded by Google!

Sandwich

@gamingonlinux
You are the worse. How could you ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

@gamingonlinux Stuntrally has to be a really good game then ๐Ÿ˜

Gardiner Bryant

@gamingonlinux I love how he thinks there are a whole bunch of open source games worth talking about.

The thing is, the majority of the FOSS games worth talking about are rebuilds of proprietary games.

@gamingonlinux Fucking Godโ€ฆ
How to be motivate after this great mail ?
Like some who critism ubuntu or mint at every news to say how good is gentoo or arch. Tired i am.

@gamingonlinux Hey Liam, I really appreciate what you do and it's so great! Thanks a lot.

However, this hate email is not so bad to acknowledge a public "whatever" retaliation, IMHO you could reply to them and explain that you don't have time to do everything (you're one person) and sometimes what they really want won't appear.

I'm saying this because sometimes people are angry with something in their lives and will be rude to everyone else, but you can be respectful and not impacted with them, and also don't spread the "you're stupid" mentality like the hate mail is doing.

Sorry for the message, it's that I really wanted to see a better Internet without this us vs. them mentality :( and being nice is a good first step.

@eitch iโ€™m not going to be nice to or about people who are dicks to me, simples, and at times I will laugh at these clowns and allow others to laugh with me

Eitch

@gamingonlinux And unfortunately that's how you get a lot of more hate and enemies :( At least you can laugh at it :)

Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

@eitch cool ๐Ÿ‘Œ donโ€™t want people like this as followers anyway

Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

Fun fact: these types of messages will do the opposite of what you want. That project will just get me to remember such a stupid hatemail. If you want me to cover something: try not being an ass about it ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒ•๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ”ฎ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›

@gamingonlinux That was a journey

Subject line: wow kind of rude

First couple paragraphs: ok maybe just poor social skills

Final paragraph: no, complete asshole

John Wyatt ๐Ÿง

@gamingonlinux sorry you got that email Liam. It does suck when you get negative info like that.

Rivermonster

@gamingonlinux sorry that you're subjected to that kind of nonsense. Frankly I'm not even seeing their point - it's not like the blog is called "foss gaming on Linux".

onelikeandidie

@gamingonlinux he forgot to `pacman -S compassion`. They say you're the shame of the Linux community but they are in fact what is wrong with it. Being on Linux doesn't always mean you need to find the most ways and software to be against the big corpos and proprietary software but sometimes it's just a choice to have more freedom with your OS

Flaky

@gamingonlinux I don't see how this behaviour encourages what the OP wants. Whatever happened to asking nicely?

For the record iโ€™m talking about the emailer lol

Flaviu E. Hongu

@gamingonlinux gaming on Linux doesn't mean open source gaming on Linux. It includes everything.
