Today's project is re-writing Catalina for 8-bit support, but I'm having issues getting logging in to work. Or actually anything at all. Honestly this is just fever dreaming isn't it. Am I real?

The 128D is real, though, and one of the better looking Commodore 8-bit machines.

@NanoRaptor I'm a sucker for the 128D because my first computer I ever owned was a hand-me-down Commodore PC-10, which looks JUST like that but it a bit taller.

(8086 clone, if you have never heard of one. Mine had twin 5.25" drives, 512kb ram, monochrome graphics a glorious amber hued Commodore monitor.)

@vampiress I am too, I always liked the original Amiga and this is even better looking, like a kind of Pro pizza box. Also I picked this one up in almost brand new condition from CARE for $10 about 20 years ago. It's been floating around here for a long while embedding in my consciousness!

mavica is back :transbian2:

@NanoRaptor if you can't log into the computer you can't be hurt by the computer. win win

@NanoRaptor oh nice looking machine! My Commodore 128D is one of my treasures. Not sure what "Catalina" is, but I am sure it will be neat

@NanoRaptor I remember my brother had an C64 and in the ads from the retailers they also showed the C128D which looked so much more like a real computer for me (I was like 7 or so)

@NanoRaptor Does it boot System 7 if you hold down the Commodore key when powering up?

@mjgardner @NanoRaptor I don't think I ever walked past a Commodore 128 display in a department store without typing go64 on all of them 😃

@NanoRaptor I love that you have to clarify that this weird old computer is actually real 😆

@NanoRaptor
If you’re trying to make April the month of Commodore (after March for Macintosh), I’m so here for it!

@NanoRaptor I picked up a regular 128 a couple months ago. It's pretty darned sharp in its own way.
