@onlmaps Name day was celebrated in my catholic family in southern Bavaria. At least while my grandparents were still alive. We children got best wishes and a chocolate.

Perhaps the border to Austria was too close. 😄

@onlmaps I am from a Spanish Catholic family and we almost celebrated that day more than Christmas. It is tradition that you have the same name as your father or grandfather (it is becoming less common), so there are families where several have the same name. In my case, on "Saint Joseph's Day" 40 people gathered at home to celebrate. Among them about 10 "Josephs". It's great 😅
