@maddiefuzz @davidho I've said it before, but mansplaining is not gender biased. @Ralph058 @maddiefuzz @davidho I mean it's power dynamic-based really, right? That usually means gender, but far from always @andrewt @maddiefuzz @davidho It definitely is a power dynamic. @maddiefuzz @davidho Ah, thank you. I was trying to remember where I saw this theme played out recently. @maddiefuzz @davidho I legitimately don't understand how people just assume women don't know shit. Thoroughly and completely puzzled. It does not fuckin compute to me that someone can think that boobs correlate to intelligence. Fucking unhinged nonsensical bullshit I'm so glad you attached that one: I wanted to, but had no idea how to find it. @davidho you can ask the real David Ho on twitter (https://twitter.com/_david_ho_) :troll: @davidho my first experience of a conference 50 years ago had a similar experience, a question elicited the response from the speaker that the definitive work was by a person who, unbeknowst to him was actually in the audience. @davidho That happened to me once. I got told by a major person in my field that I should check out the work of Christensen, who asks and answers that question. ;) You didn't elaborate so I like to think he/she meant, "I have no idea and if anyone would it would be David Ho." Sorry, you're the highest authority in the field. That's awkward.... for them.
Also makes sense why at conferences I've been to, you surreal your name and association if any, before speaking. Also means transcriptions make sense with the speaker named. @davidho It's the good advice, Ho just didn't take... |
