I think I see 4 large output drivers in the upper left. I suppose that could be 2 differential pairs, but I think it might be more likely to be for audio or similar.

@tubetime The die really looks like a real time clock. I don't know how this 18 pin variant differs from the 16 pin variants, though. |
hmm the die says it is the MM4827.
