@exador23 That's funnier in Swedish, where electrical ground is the same word as both soil and the Earth.

Seachaint :verified:

@mjausson @exador23 At least here in Éire we often refer to "Electrical Ground" as "Earth" in English, too

There is also a mnemonic for older three phase current cables (black, brown, black) the first phase is the black one between sky(blue) and ground. @mjausson @exador23

@mjausson @exador23 Actually electric ground is always earth, it's just a question of when the connection is made. Our pool was installed before grounded circuits were required, so at some point they added a ground by hammering a grounding rod into the dirt and connecting to that.

I was researching how to set up the ground, because I moved to an old apartment that doesn't have it.

Now I can look at this and understand the joke!

@exador23 these have to all be a joke right. Nobody actually does this, not for a joke, right?

I mean like flat earthers have to be taking the piss as well.

I thought it was a joke when I saw the first one, but I've seen it often enough, and in enough different cabinets, that I have to wonder.

Very good to illustrate what is "above ground"!
@gruik
Très très bien pour illustrer ce qui est "hors sol"!

@exador23 The wire is green and everything, it checks out

Personally, i'd put a ground steak into the earth, but some people don't like the smell

@exador23 when you hire a vampire as your electrician…

@exador23@m.ai6yr.org in a sense, it's how the counterpoise works in micromave antennas.
