@popey when this happened before a few times, Valve looked into it and saw it was cyber cafes: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2018/05/the-steam-hardware-survey-had-some-flaw-causing-cyber-cafes-to-be-over-counting-users/ but that was repeating monthly, not one offs here and there |
@gamingonlinux I do wonder if these bumps can ever be explained away. It could be some random news article over there describing how to bypass the great wall with a new VPN or a new game with insane popularity, or a popular game which added a server in China. Who knows!? I find this stuff fascinating! :D
