@polotek OK, 1 additional thought: it seems to me that the very point of "federation" is that it recognizes that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution to the problem of social media visibility vs abuse; my mastodon experience is different from yours (or whatever kind of server you're on), because we're on different servers, and I've (probably!) made (slightly?) different mute/block decisions, follow different accounts, etc etc
