Toshiba produced this typewriter for offices starting in 1940. It has 1,172 Japanese and Chinese characters (as well as the Latin alphabet) on its horizontal cylinder. โ๏ธ๐งต

 @straphanger @bryan Oh, thatโs a neat design. I hadnโt realized at first that the character on the wood (?) doesnโt correspond to the metal under it, but itโs offset by several rows. Very clever! |
