Another github account of mine got hidden. No dumb usernames this time, no disposable emails.
Don't get me wrong, hiding suspicious activity is ok, but you should perhaps notify the user somehow, ask them to verify that they're human via captchas or their phone number, request contacting support, etc. But no, github only employs literal shadowbanning, on a tech collaboration platform. We aren't talking about random shitposts and cringe memes but about features someone requested.

@lonelyowl what exactly is "hidden"? Like, no one can see your issues, PRs?

@lonelyowl sad to hear that. I've been there and they want your metadata in order to train their shitty models.
Ideally people should move their codebases to Codeberg or Gitea but in the meantime a VPN (they also hate Tor) and tracker poisoning may work for that matter.
