@nixCraft Just to fuck with him, his download should be preceded with a LeetCode question. @nixCraft LOL... he is specifically crying about a CLI tool in python. I somehow doubt the exe will help him at all... I have the urge to build an .exe file that only displays a window with the text "No!" and provide it in a repo for linking. @nixCraft@mastodon.social bro sits down at benches in the park and waits for the waitress @nixCraft When a person needs an #app that will #simply do the job. @nixCraft developers more liek devsmellopers amirite, stoopid dorks, imagine actually making things that are like functional and desired by many n shid, couldn't possibly be me @cringemaker @nixCraft that's why you befriend the hackers, they help us non techie folk lol Note that rudeness apart, I've very often had people directing me to find the software on their github page, and then when going there not being able to find the executable. It's nice to make free software and it entails no obligation to you, but when you invite people to your github page you probably should make this page clear enough that people could find what you promised them. @nixCraft If it's just Python then it can be wrapped as an exe with all dependencies. It isn't an unreasonable request even if expressed unreasonably. well, as long as users like that exist i have a job. so no problem, let'em rage. however, no exe's from me, sorry.
@nixCraft Even as a developer I'd say they should have made a setup.py or a pyproject.toml since it's a Python program, but they don't have any of these. @nixCraft Textbook example of why you don't steer end users to a Github page. Github may be great for tech people and devs organizing a project, but the UI/UX is possibly the worst fscking thing for any regular person who doesn't know how to navigate Github. Make a separate project page and put your binary releases on it for those people. If you're putting out software for end-users, you have to understand that audience. |
@nixCraft hey! Not all of us are smelly.
Well, sometimes I am.
