Email from Philip Schiller to Eddy Cue that says “Food for thought: Do we think our 30/70% split will last forever? While I am a staunch supporter of the 30/70% split and keeping it simple and consistent across our stores, I don’t think 30/70 will last unchanged forever. I think someday we will see a challenge from another platform or a web based solution to want to adjust our model”

@owa no it's a bad governance by the EU

The EU made up stupid rules and now we deal with the consequences 🤷🏽‍♂️

Open Web Advocacy

@SebastienK no it’s malicious compliance. Go read the article.

@owa it's about greedy developers wanting more money time and time again who screwed it up for everyone else. The lobbying with the EU worked and now we get this. It’s GDPR all over again. The EU broke the internet again 🤷🏽‍♂️

@SebastienK @owa Nope, it's greedy corporations that are breaking the internet.

Those cookie banners you see everywhere? Completely unnecessary unless the website wants to spy on you, and of course the advertisers made the banners as obnoxious as possible because that's what they want. Apple's the same here – it's not like they didn't know this was coming.

@jernej__s Indeed! Corporations like Spotify who claim that Apple is screwing them over whilst Spotify’s entire business model is to screw artists. They don't care about an open web. All they care about is money. @owa
