@hollie The link worked for me! I see that the "free Paxlovid" is for Medicare and Medicaid subscribers... or did I misread the article?

Happy Holliedays

@lizopp Oh it says folks on Medicare or Medicaid OR who are uninsured (which is a lot of people).

@hollie just in case the link stops working somehow, it’s also on archive.is: archive.is/WKxmf

@hollie This is amazing, thank you! is it okay if I retoot?

Honestly, if you have insurance and are not on Medicare yet, this is about as difficult as it can get.

First you have to be sick. So while you have a fever, you have to get ahold of your doc Immediately and get them to write the script.

Then you have to google the Pfizer website... and then, I don't even know how it gets communicated to your pharmacy and oh yeah, not all pharmacies have Paxlovid.

So go to hhs website to navigate to find the closest one.
Sure. OK. Good luck.

@CaroltheCrone @hollie This. It's so fucking stupid. Pharmacists need to be empowered to prescribe Paxlovid and fill out the paperwork for you on the spot at the drive thru, with nothing more than a positive test (which they could also administer if needed).

@hollie

If you have a public library card, you can access most paywalled material online.

Mine uses PressReader.

@hollie 'Patients on Medicare and Medicaid or who are uninsured should get free Paxlovid. They need to sign up by going to paxlovid.iassist.com or by calling 877-219-7225. β€œWe wanted to make enrollment as easy and as quick as possible,” the representative said.'

@servelan @hollie

Awesome. The only catch is you need to already have your prescription when you request the voucher at paxlovid.iassist.com. I think there are online sources that will give you a prescription, but I'm not sure. Might require a telesesh with a doc.

Servelan

@artemesia @hollie Yep, can't get it without a prescription. I'm on Medicare and need a Px too.

Rich Felker

@hollie As a "how to get", it's missing the most critical part: how to get the Rx in the critical time window.

I'm so lucky to be a Canadian! I still had to have the correct risk factors but there was a COVID outpatient phone line for the province, which I found after using the free 811 number to talk to a nurse. Chatted with the 2 different nurses for over an hour in total, then had a 3-minute chat with the doc for the #COVID line, and my pharmacy got the RX in the morning and delivered it by noon! All of this happened after I tested positive at 5:30 pm.

@hollie thank you! how gross that this info is paywalled...
