After removing about a dozen Phillips-head screws during an appliance repair project, I encountered the handiwork of an Industrial Designer who hated the world so much he specified the use of a couple of these abominations to ruin your day. Folks, just say no to Security Torx screws.

@DamienWise but that is less of an issue as if that would have been glued or bolted instead, is it?

@urx I dunno. A lot of glues will soften if you use the right solvent. Some people have a set of torx screwdrivers, but very few people have a set of security torx screwdrivers. To use mostly phillips-head screws but then also two torx screws suggests that the makers of the appliance had deliberate intent to annoy and waste the time of anyone trying to service the machine. It's not designed to be repaired; it's designed to be thrown-out in frustration.
