I find it highly concerning how #Ubuntu took only some years to achieve a full decline from "#Linux for human beings" to "Enterprise Linux like Microsoft would do it".
@nik Canonical is trying to be the Microsoft of the Linux world with its proprietary software store, profit seeking behavior, embedded ads in terminal, etc. I’ve long since given up on it. It’s too bad because it’s not a terrible distribution per se, but there are so many good alternatives out there it’s become meaningless to even try salvaging the project.
Then there’s the rumors of Canonical attempting to get Microsoft to buy it out, which would not surprise me in the least.
@nik yet people still recommend it and think it's great, it's almost like people love falling for such traps/love opt out instead of opt in systems.
I would never dare to suggest Ubuntu to any user
