@chrisg @_patmurray Funny! I’m disappointed more people haven’t read Neal Stephenson’s Fall. The main plot is ok fun, but the subplot of (2035?) America / Netfuture is brilliant and persuasive.

Started with app.net as either jgordon or johngordon (not sure which!). Then to Twitter as @jgordonshares. My avatar has always included our dog Kateva who passed a few years ago. Gordon is my middle name. I distrust the righteous, mobs, and especially righteous mobs. I know things about primary care medicine, medical informatics, and special needs. For fun I road, singletrack and snow bike, XC ski, in-line skate, travel, play hockey, and do CrossFit.

I laughed and applaud -- though it's actually easy to do win-win ads. My bike mags of 10y ago were full of them. Now that Facebook does ads based largely on Group membership they're pretty good too. It's the click-based ad industry that we want to utterly destroy. I'm pretty sure it doesn't actually work for vendors either -- only for the click-based ad industry. |
