Telling people in survival mode to leave their comfort zones is in reality telling them to leave their survival zones. When you're in survival mode you don't have a comfort zone. @jasmine Thank you for clarifying this for me; I’ve been gaslighting myself because I hadn’t put this together 💙   Muting is self-care. Blocking is self-care. What I mean by this is that it is not a punishment. It is not a judgement on the person being muted or blocked. It is about the well-being and interests of the person doing the muting or blocking. Why I'm saying this is because I need to hear it myself. @jasmine@chaosfem.tw it's still a struggle for me to mute people that I know are doing The Right Thing. But I easily get overwhelmed by reporting on cruelty and I help nobody by breaking down from reading the news. |
