My partner just created her #Threads account and the account that showed up on top as suggestion to follow was mine. However, I don't have a Threads account. Basically, anyone who has an Instagram account, #Meta is automatically creating a shadow account for them and also allowing users to follow those shadow accounts. My partner had tonnes of follow requests as soon as she made the account. |

@h_tejas My cats have an insta account. Neither me or them have a facebook. A few weeks ago I got a notification that one of their reels blew up on facebook. Nowhere did I consent that their stuff could be shared to facebook. This doesn’t surprise me at all. My cats are not surpised either.
@h_tejas I would venture a guess this is due to the "Follow everyone you follow on Instagram" feature that would require them to all have accounts to be subbed.
