It's weird watching people gas up BSky over and over again like "oh it's just like old Twitter!" "oh it's so much better on BSky growing my audience is so much easier" and always it's by people who already had like double digit thousands of followers on Twitter.
Meanwhile time and time again I keep finding that I have a MUCH wider reach on Mastodon. I was able to grow a larger following faster, and my posts consistently reach people who aren't already following me (whereas on BSky it has a stronger tendency to stay within my existing circle, which is just not fucking useful for growth)

@glairedaggers I recently got a Badly invite and have had fun checking out the platform. But like… where are the interesting people to follow like I have on Mastodon? The people here do seem so much more interesting.
@glairedaggers i’m not that interested in “growth“ but for sure on bluesky the vibe of I want to get as many followers as I can just seriously bums me out. Mastodon it really feels like it does not matter at all, follow her accounts. The only thing that matters is what do you post? And there’s no pressure to post certain things because the audience is so vast someone’s gonna like almost anything! It’s beautiful!

@glairedaggers personally, I want communities and communication rather than having an audience.
I’m not a follower by nature and I’m also not fond of people following me. It’s an ugly word I think, too hierarchical for my liking.
