@nicmagnier Having lived in Boston - this is one of my favorite genres. https://www.boston.com/uncategorized/noprimarytagmatch/2012/09/28/six-pictures-of-trucks-stuck-under-boston-bridges/ The difference between Mastodon and a Twitter, Post, or Bluesky etc is lessons learned vs not. The UX here is still very suboptimal but that can be eventually fixed. Being owned by a profit-seeking billionaire/VC/whatever can’t be fixed.

@dkiesow @otfrom "The UX can be fixed" seems like a lesson that hasnt been learnt from a long history of open source products that have not focused on the user experience from the start. The UX cannot "just" be fixed, people have been harassed and threatened for trying to to make this place usable, it would take a huge concerted effort, lots of tradeoffs and support from the community to be able to improve the UX and there is no indication that is even wanted let alone possible |
