By day I'm an #InfoSec Analyst for a Critical Infrastructure company. My focus areas are #PKI, Certificate Lifecycle Management (#CLM), #VulnMgmt, and hardening #UNIX/ #Linux Systems. By night I'm a #writer and #sysadmin.
When it comes to privacy and security, I am a pragmatist and a realist. The World is not black & white. I recognize this, and I appreciate this. Unfortunately, this puts me at direct odds with those whose only world view is their own and they can't comprehend any other.
I am also an #atheist. Reading the Bible turned me into an atheist. Frankly, I find it impossible for anyone to have read the Bible and not be an atheist. If somebody tells me they have read the Bible and are not an atheist I'm fairly sure they're lying. Either about having read the Bible, or about being an atheist.
Live each day like it might be your last. Make your life count. Live a life that people will want to remember you for. Tomorrow is never guaranteed.
I'm *not* an anarchist. I don't believe in anarchy. Very little good comes from anarchy. While every complex system will eventually devolve towards entropy, that is a final state in my view.
And let's not forget that even all the entropy in the universe will eventually stop at some point in the future.
I have been in IT for close to 30 years, and plan to retire from my Company (after almost 17 years) later on this year. I plan to sell my house and my belongings, buy an RV, and become a digital nomad.
I don't plan to retire from *work*, but I do plan to retire from IT.
I hope to eventually settle in and around Colorado, South Dakota, and Montana.
@gme Misskey did it first. Then Fedibird, then Soapbox, then Akkoma, thenโฆ still not Mastodon.
