Me: *flicks the mouse wheel*, why yes, I was born in 1960 thank you for letting me in. The death of physical media gives me so many mixed feelings. On the one hand, it's kinda wasteful isn't it. All those plastic boxes. On the other: you don't know when digital will just be taken away from you. And at some point it probably will be taken away from you somehow. Makes me nostalgic for the times opening presents when younger, and even only a few years ago, and it was some cool game or Bluray/DVD. So uh, I recently re-made a Reddit account, purely because I wanted to follow a few specific things. A post from /r/steamdeck showed up, complaining about how bad the sub is full of nonsense posts. I commented...and got permanently banned. Lmao. Don't ever dare to comment about the state of the sub.  Reddit strikes again lol "Don't bother linking GOL. Also ironic, given that was commented on...Reddit. A place full of bots, adverts, it's gonna sell you out to AI and by posting all you're doing is helping them God damn the #Helldivers2 marketing team are hilarious. It’s now their money. For some it’s a hobby, for some it is their job, but either way it’s their time and that does cost money. We all gotta eat and live and pay bills. If you’re gonna get mad, don’t donate. If you want something specific: do it via a proper signed agreement where you’re basically contracting them. Otherwise, shhh. That same user posted about my previous article, going over the previous announcement of X.Org and Xwayland security issues...and got a lot of upvotes https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1981xwg/xorg_and_xwayland_get_new_releases_due_to/ Musk showed this about Twitter traffic, look at the end of it. That spike...it's all bots. The bots are literally everywhere. I wished more developers would #opensource their game code at the very least, a few years after release. Allow your games to live forever on more platforms! "Facebook let Netflix see user DMs, quit streaming to keep Netflix happy: Lawsuit" How is that even remotely legal.  You know what's annoying about running something, I often get DMs like this... It happens in Discord, Twitter, Mastodon...everywhere. So tiring to remove them all, and constantly tell people to ask for support / questions in public. I love the power that #Mastodon gives you. Saw a notification from a user on the @gamingonlinux feed, from let's say...a server run by a group of people I despise. So, thanks to the tools available, I entirely blocked the server. Power in users hands, love it. |
