Hard to believe that even here on Mastodon that my lil @gamingonlinux has hit over 50K followers. Impressive. Quickly closing in on Twitter/X numbers. Only another 16K or so to go, big surprise that.

Shot in the dark but anyone got a spare Steam key for ARK: Survival Evolved? The kiddo seems really into it but Steam library sharing locking my entire library while he does it is real annoying. I don't like showing this sort of stuff, but just to give a behind the scenes of what moderating a site like @gamingonlinux can end up like... @ThePlant The kiddo is playing Undertale for the first time. Kiddo: I feel bad. The lack of basic PC knowledge when looking over YouTube comments is staggering. When I do a guide that is basically: open website, download file, unzip, move and done - some people can’t even do that. How did it get so bad. Highlight of my day: writing about how a tiny indie game about a bum fighting toilets helped Proton and Steam Deck bugs lol Once again, loading up #Fedora KDE in the morning and...everything is randomly slow. It keeps doing this and I would love to find out why, because it's getting to the point where I might just switch distro if I can't find and fix why it's doing it. Are there logs I can look at and show off to #Linux peeps who might know why? Gonna start a new livestreaming project of “Therapy with Liam” and it’s just a video of us all screaming.

I keep thinking I should change @gamingonlinux to a different username. I get real tired of the complaints from the “just stick to Linux gaming” bros. While yes it started just to post news, GOL really is just me and I like being more personal with it about everything. Just don’t know what to call it. Not going to rebrand the actual website like I tried before but social media is different and I think a lot of people get that. |
