Why do indie devs bother with these massive game events? My inbox has received i think about 50 emails since a bit before Gamescom started. One just came in announcing 8 different games. Like…why? You’re gonna get drowned out. Lmao according to similarweb, @gamingonlinux has "11 - 50" employees. Nah, just me on lots of caffeine and pizza. People just really don't understand all that Valve has done and just moan. Me: writes a lil article about Proton, celebrating 5 years. Reddit: *moaning* calling it "revisionist"... Uh sorry, but pre-Valve, Linux gaming sucked. Wine was pretty rough too, and we had a whole lot of nothing.   I can't even...they're going to remove blocking from #Twitter or #X or whatever the fuck it's called today. This is absolutely brain-dead. Muting only stops you seeing them. Blocking prevents them replying with shit that others will see, that you then can't see. Removing blocking is just so stupid. So many reasons why a hard block is necessary from bots to harassment. They don't stop just because you can't see them ffs. *sigh* it's one of those days. The Discord news poster for @gamingonlinux stopped working. So I added error logging to the script to find out why...and now it magically works again with no errors. PSA: There comes a time when you need to make a decision, and so my time as chief at @gamingonlinux will come to an end. Thread 1/2. Whew and another one hidden from the YouTube channel, some people really just can’t behave 😅 I could easily rake in more by leaving up ridiculous comments, but i prefer to stay sane and not have hate in the yt comments over a few more pennies from engagement. I love how overly aggressive some people are “dont support blizzard, if you keep playing it i wont watch you and you suck at it by the way” - imagine that but a few x’s more hateful and disrespectful. With all this news that Threads added rel=me, just note that profiles on @gamingonlinux also support this kind of verification if you want to add it to your #Mastodon profile ;) Me: *clicks play in Steam* My PC: Best I can do is say it's now playing but not display anything. |
